After several years on College Avenue, Adventure Subaru will be moving to larger facility at 2269 N. Henbest Dr., just off I-540 this week.

According to a news release, the new location will allow for a larger inventory of both new and used vehicles, as well as an expanded service area, and other customer amenities including added waiting areas for customer convenience, a dedicated children’s area, a customer cafe, and free wi-fi inside the building.

“As our sales and service grew, it became obvious that we were outgrowing our current facility on North College Avenue,” said co-owner Dennis Nelms in a statement posted on the company’s website.

Founder Don Nelms, who has operated car dealerships in Northwest Arkasans since the 1970s, said at a groundbreaking ceremony held in November that it was important to him to keep Adventure Subaru in Fayetteville.

“My relationship with this city goes back over 40 years,” he said. “I used to tell people ‘I’m a former Texan.’ Now, I’m definitely an Arkansan…and a Fayettevillian.”

The dealership will be closed on Friday, June 22 to allow for the move, and the plan is to officially be open at the new location on Saturday, June 23.

    Is there an opening event?

Hey man. Not sure if there’s a grand opening event scheduled. I’ll ask.

Hey man. There isn’t a big grand opening scheduled yet. Lori from the dealership did tell me that they’re having an “authentic Dave Mirra #40 Subaru WRX STI Rallycross car” for folks to check out, and for kids to climb around in on opening day Saturday.

Any info on what will happen to the old dealership?

My guess is that it will be another empty building on college

One more reason not to shut down a successful business, Shave the Planet, in a part of town business are fleeing. Sorry, I just really love me some shaved ice.

Hoping they have a half off sale to celebrate! I could use a new Subaru!

Plans for a Grand Opening event are in the works. Adventure Subaru is the premier Subaru dealer in Mid-America, and one of the highest rated dealerships in the entire country. The old building simply could not support the amount of business Adventure Subaru brings to Fayetteville (from all over the United States.) Lots of interest in the old building, I doubt it will be empty for long.
