City Council Primer: July 3, 2012

Council chambers, Fayetteville City Hall

A meeting of the Fayetteville City Council is set for 6 p.m. July 3 in room 219 of City Hall, 113 W. Mountain Street.

Below is a brief overview of what to expect at the meeting including links to PDF documents for each item.

Agenda Additions

Two additions to the agenda will be considered Tuesday night including the appointment of Ward 3 Alderman Bobby Ferrell to replace Mayor Lioneld Jordan on the A&P Commission and the approval of a fireworks use make-up day in light of the current citywide burn ban which prohibits fireworks during the Fourth of July holiday.

Consent

There are five items on the Consent portion of the agenda including the approval of the June 19, 2012 City Council meeting minutes.

Bid #12-53 Mid-America Pool Renovation, Inc. Approval of a $256,490 contract with Mid-America Pool Renovation, Inc. for the construction of Wilson Park pool renovations.
2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Authorization of an application for a 80/20 matching 2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant, through FEMA, in the amount of $179,410 for the purchase of wildland firefighting personal protective equipment.
FEMA Reimbursement A $129,391 reimbursement to the Transportation Division for expenditures incurred as a result of Spring 2011 flooding.
Steele Boulevard/Malco Theatre Entry Traffic Signal Approval of $85,300 in revenue for the installation of a traffic signal on Steele Boulevard at the entrance to the Malco Theatre.
