Just in case the mid-week holiday has you a little confused, today is Thursday and if you’re not at work right now, you might be in trouble.

Also, it’s the first Thursday of the month which means there’s a big party in downtown Fayetteville this evening.

This month’s First Thursday art walk on the square kicks off at 5 p.m.

At least 35 artists and craftspeople will have their work for sale, including drawings, mixed media, digital art from Cory David Perry; handmade longboards from F-Town Longboards; and jewelry from Danielle Ross and Connie O’Mara.

Fayetteville’s 3 Penny Acre will supply tonight’s live music at 6 p.m., and The Goonies movie will be shown at around 9 p.m. on the Old Post Office building’s loading dock.

As always, expect a charity beer garden and a kids zone for the kiddos.

Don’t forget that parking on all the streets and public lots around the square is free after 5 p.m.

    See you there!

Thanks for the heads up Mr. Coody . Now I can work on a plan to avoid your insistent non-stop glad handing. Please let our family and friends enjoy the event. We are nice folks who politely say, “Hello” then try to escape your clutches gracefully. A more considerate person would get the hint; when we walk away we do not want to be followed and pestered with constant clucking about parking, parking decks and your world famous energy house etc. we really just want to enjoy Fayetteville’s fine monthly event and have a cold beer. I was raised to realize when a person changes the subject to the weather, “My this drought and heat is really something!” they mean “I am tired of your politics and wish not to be bothered with your opinions of which I may or may not agree.”

Michael, why don’t you give your full name so Dan Coody and others who don’t wish to waste your time can avoid you. Thanks.
