American Air Filter announced Thursday it will expand its manufacturing plant in Fayetteville.
The company plans to invest $516,000 into the facility and add 58 jobs to its current roster of 112 employees in Fayetteville.
“AAF is creating 58 good jobs for Arkansans through this expansion, highlighting the importance of our existing companies,” said Grant Tennille, executive director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. “AAF’s decision to expand in Arkansas is a testament to the skills and work ethic of the company’s existing workforce.”
The facility, located at 2355 S. Armstrong Ave., manufactures panel and pleated air filters for a wide variety of end users.
“American Air Filter Company is one of our many excellent companies in Fayetteville, and we are excited about AAF’s expansion and the addition of 58 good-paying jobs that do much for our community and the State of Arkansas,” said Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan.
The Louisville, Ky.-based company has more than 3,000 employees, 22 manufacturing facilities, and five research-and-development centers worldwide.

Great news!
Damned sign ordinance.
Whuh?
I thought I’d start the complaining about how Fayetteville’s sign ordinance kills business.
I love our sign ordinance! I cherish it every time I go through a town without one. Those crazy colored LED dilays that are popping up in other towns are just hideous.

Word. Bentonville is getting fuglier by the second. Vendor-Vegas.
Bentonville’s new sign criteria is actually pretty tough. Similar to Fayetteville’s.
Its about 20 years too late for Walton Blvd.
Hmmm, y’all got any inside info on jobs over there? Only two jobs listed on the AAF site, both for engineering types.
Sometimes general labor jobs are screened through the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services in order to get tax breaks for job creation or handle the high volume of applicant traffic. Calling the AAF front office would probably get some quick insight.
