Local musicians to pay tribute to Los Angeles punk band X

If you’re a fan of Los Angeles punk band, X, we’ve got good news and bad news for you.

The bad news is that, though they’ve reformed, and have been touring in recent years, Fayetteville is not a stop on their recently-announced tour.

The good news is that some local musicians, calling themselves The Once Over Twice (after X’s song by the same name), are planning a tribute to the band this Friday, July 20 at The Lightbulb Club.

Zack Wait (Fauxnz, Egyptr), Jacqueline Shin (Sharkcunt), Brock Mitchell, and Digby Jukes have been working on songs from the band’s first three albums, Los Angeles (1980), Wild Gift (1981), and Under the Big Black Sun (1982).

“They’ve been my favorite band since high school,” Wait said. “It’s kind of weird because I’ve never played covers before, but it’s been fun learning these songs.”

There is no cover, and locals Perpetual Werewolf will open the show.
