Businesses plan Evelyn cHills Fest for Aug. 18

The businesses in Evelyn Hills Shopping Center are throwing a party next month.

Live music, kid-friendly activities, burgers, hotdogs, and snow cones are a few of the highlights of the first ever Evelyn cHills Fest, set for 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18 in the parking lot of the shopping center.

Alexa McGriff, marketing director for Ozark Natural Foods said the festival has two purposes.

“For one, we’re going to be raising money for a great organization, the March of Dimes,” she said. “The other thing is, everyone knows Uptown and Downtown. We want to do something to call attention to the cool things that are happening in Midtown.”

Several of the businesses are planning activities for the festival including bouncy houses for the kids, carnival-style games, and more.

Live music performances from Darren Ray, The Great Scotts, The Phosphenes, and The Trashcan Bandits are also scheduled for the event.

More details, including specific activities and schedules will be released in the coming weeks. You can also keep up with new developments on the event’s Facebook page.
