Pets of the Week

Pets of the week: Peppercorn and Tabetha

Peppercorn

Photos: Todd Gill, Flyer staff

Meet Peppercorn, a one-and-a-half-year-old brindle colored Great Dane mix pup with one blue eye and one brown eye. The volunteers at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter were worried his different colored eyes wouldn’t make him very photogenic, but he looks pretty good to us. Getting photos of him was easy, too, because he kept following us around trying to lay his head on our legs. We’d walk to one side of his pen, point the camera at him and he’d just come walking right over. When it was time for him to go back inside, he left his pen and trotted straight to the back door of the shelter and waited for us to take him to his kennel.

Tabetha

Tabetha is a 2-year-old black and white Domestic Shorthair kitty who is very sweet and gets along well with other cats. She came to the shelter as a new mother so she was sent to a temporary foster home to be with her kittens. When Tabetha got back to the shelter, there was a litter of kittens without a mother, so she took care of them, too. No joke. Now Tabetha needs someone to take care of her.

If you are interested in meeting either of this week’s featured pets or any of the other wonderful animals at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, call 444-3456 or stop by the shelter during adoption hours at 1640 S. Armstrong Avenue.
