The Fayetteville City Council approved a plan to renovate two public tennis courts at Wilson Park using a grant from the United States Tennis Association. The money will pay to resurface two of the park’s six full-size tennis courts, one of which will be converted into four 36-foot courts designed for children 10 and younger.

Here’s a list of other action taken during Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.

After 19 years on Dickson Street, chef Peter Steinhart announced the closing of 1936 Club restaurant. Saturday, Aug. 11 is the last day of business.

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced the arrest of a man suspected of shooting a woman on Wedington Drive Sunday morning. Eric Thomas Frankenhauser, 40, was arrested Tuesday by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio.
