ESPN will air an interview with former Arkansas head football coach Bobby Petrino on SportsCenter later today.

The interview will be Petrino’s first since he was fired earlier this year.

ESPN’s Joe Schad said via his Twitter account that the interview includes discussion of Petrino’s dismissal at Arkansas, as well as his April 1 motorcycle crash involving his subordinate, Jessica Dorrell. He described Petrino’s demeanor as “remorseful, apologetic, and emotional.”

Schad said the segment will air “for sure at 6 p.m. ET” (5 p.m. CST), and that clips from the interview will air during the program beginning this morning.

A story on Petrino, which includes segments of the interview, also appeared at ESPN.com earlier today.

I predict this begins the “Hire Petrino Back” movement. Which will only be intensified by our impending 8 and 4 season, and the continued silliness of our interim coach.

      Agreed.

    10.9 Re-employment

So long as you leave the University in good standing, you are eligible to be considered for re-employment in the same or another University unit.

Did he leave in good standing?

“Coach Petrino was terminated with cause, and no, there were no negotiations about ways that he could remain our football coach,” Long said.

Does the University hire Jessica back also?

I’d say HDN has a better chance of being rehired than either Dorrel or Petrino.
