Pets of the Week

Pets of the week: Ken and Charlie

Ken

Meet Ken, a 1-year-old, black and white Pitbull mix pup who needs a new home.

Ken immediately caught our attention with his big smile and funny name. OK, maybe it’s not a funny name, but we’ve never heard of a dog named Ken before.

He’s a very friendly guy who gets along great with other dogs and was having so much fun with his kennel mate that we spent quite a while trying to get him to stop and pose for the camera. To our surprise, he already knew how to sit when asked. We should’ve tried that first.

If you’ve been considering adopting a pet recently, now is a great time to head over to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. Besides Ken, there are at least a dozen incredibly cute pups at the shelter this week. Seriously.

Charlie

Charlie is one of the most relaxed cats we’ve seen at the shelter. Many kitties head straight for the exit when their kennel door is opened, but not Charlie. He just stood up and stretched. Our camera lens was a little scary to him at first, but we couldn’t blame him. Who wants to wake up to a giant camera in their face?

We were shocked to learn that Charlie is only a little over a year old. Not too many young cats are that chilled out. In other words, Charlie will make a good lap buddy or couch potato for somebody for years to come.

If you are interested in meeting either of this week’s featured pets or any of the other wonderful animals at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, call 444-3456 or stop by the shelter during adoption hours at 1640 S. Armstrong Avenue.
