Ranger’s Pantry hosts ‘Pounds for Paws’ pet food drive

The Fayetteville Rotaract Club, Rotary International and Harp’s recently raised over 850 pounds of pet food during their “Paws and Wheels” food drive last week.

Officials with Ranger’s Pantry, the city’s pet food bank, hope to stock the shelves with a ton of pet food during the “Pounds for Paws” food drive. Literally.

The goal is to raise at least 2,000 pounds of pet food by Sept. 28.

Anyone interesting in donating can drop off dry pet food or monetary donations at the following local businesses:

Animal Medical Clinic/All Cats Clinic – 3045 N. Market Ave.
Gulley Park Pets Clinic – 2406 N. Old Wire Rd.
Family Pets Veterinary Care – 125 E. Township St. #1
Halbert’s Veterinary & Supply – 2675 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

As always, pet food can also be dropped off at any Fayetteville Fire Station; at the Community Services office, 125 W. Mountain St.; or at All Around Storage, 2650 City Lake Road. Cash donations are also welcome and may be sent to City of Fayetteville Community Services, 113 W. Mountain St., Fayetteville, AR 72701. Checks should be made out to ‘City of Fayetteville’ with ‘Ranger’s Pantry’ in the memo line. One hundred percent of all cash donations are used to purchase pet food for the Pantry.

For more information, call the City of Fayetteville Community Services Division at 479-575-8260.

Ranger’s pantry is a very important program for keeping pets in their homes and out of our shelters. Please help with this food drive if you are able. You can also email our non profit, Friends of the Fayetteville Animal Shelter if you are unable to drop off the food yourself and we will pick up and drop off the food on your behalf. ffashelter@gmail.com
