2012 Washington County Fair begins Tuesday, Aug. 28

Ferris wheels, funnel cakes, the Zipper, and the Tilt-a-Whirl. It’s time for the 155th annual Washington County Fair.

The carnival kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 28, and runs through Saturday, Sept. 1. The rides and carnival games begin weekday evenings at 5 p.m. and at noon on Saturday.

For unlimited rides, you can purchase an armband for $30 nightly, or $25 with a Pepsi can during Midnight Madness Friday night from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday is Two Dollar Tuesday, featuring $2 admission and $2 rides. After that, admission is $5 Wednesday through Saturday.

Live music will take place nightly on the Arkansas Music Pavilion stage, and the music is included in the fair admission fee.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

10 a.m. – Fair opens
6 p.m. – Miss Washington County Fair Pageant & County Fair Queen Contest (AMP stage)
8 p.m. – Live music – Johna McNabb (AMP stage)
8:30 p.m. – Live Music – Master’s Voice (AMP stage)

Wednesday, Aug. 29

7 p.m. – Live music – Conflict of Interest (AMP stage)
9 p.m. – Live music – Steel Magnolia (AMP stage)

Thursday, Aug. 30

7 p.m. – Boston Mountain Playboys (AMP stage)

Friday, Aug. 31

7 p.m. – Chasing Pictures (AMP stage)
9 p.m. – Just Leaving New York (AMP stage)
10 p.m. – 2 a.m. – Midnight Madness (Midway)

Saturday, Sept. 1

12 p.m. – Tractor Pull
5:30 p.m. – Lawnmower Pull
6 p.m. – Youth talent contest (Outside stage)
7 p.m. – Mutton Bustin (Livestock Arena)
7:30 p.m. – Bull Buck Out (Livestock Arena)
8 p.m. – Live music – Ashlyn Metheny (AMP stage)
9 p.m. – Riverbilly
