Pets of the Week

Pets of the week: John and Sweet Caroline

John

Photos: Todd Gill, Flyer staff

Meet John, a six-month-old, brindle Hound-Shepherd mix pup who would love to be your new pal.

Snapping some clear photos of John wasn’t easy this morning, but it wasn’t John’s fault. His kennel mates were so excited to see us that they were jumping all over the place to try and get in the picture. John was very calm, though, and patiently waited his turn. A dog with patience is a good dog.

Each of the other two dogs in the kennel (Michael and Wendy…Peter Pan reference, maybe?) seemed friendly enough, but John was definitely the standout of the bunch.

You should stop by the Fayetteville Animal Shelter and see him for yourself.

Sweet Caroline

Sweet Caroline is a 2-year-old Tabico kitty with the cutest, bushiest tail we’ve seen in a long, long time.

Some cats take a few minute to get used to our camera, but Sweet Caroline was all about posing. She even tried to rub her cheek on our lens a couple of times. In other words, Sweet Caroline definitely lives up to her name.

If you’re considering a new kitty and would like to jump past the kitten stage and straight into the lovable adult phase, you should stop by the shelter and say hello to Sweet Caroline.

If you are interested in meeting either of this week’s featured pets or any of the other wonderful animals at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, call 444-3456 or stop by the shelter during adoption hours at 1640 S. Armstrong Avenue.
