Meet John, a six-month-old, brindle Hound-Shepherd mix pup available for adoption at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.

This week’s featured pets available for adoption are John, a six-month-old, brindle Hound-Shepherd mix pup and Sweet Caroline, a 2-year-old Tabico kitty.

The Fayetteville Council of Neighborhoods is asking the public to submit questions for consideration during a planned mayoral candidate forum to be held later this month.

Thanks to a Michigan loss and a South Carolina scare, Arkansas moved up two spots to No. 8 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 college football poll.

Tensie Whelan, president of the Rainforest Alliance, will speak in Fayetteville tonight on the ways that sustainability is entering the mainstream in countries around the world.

Arkansas is No. 4 on the recently released “Fifty Shades of Cray,” a list of the top ten party schools for 2013
