It’s not very often that The Red Barn Ramblers get together, but when they do, it’s always an event not to be missed.

The 15-piece band, made up of an all-star lineup of local, regional, and national-caliber musicians including saxophone legend Charlie Chalmers (Aretha Franklin, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dusty Springfield), El Buho (Phish, STS9, Stevie Ray Vaughn), Earl Cate, and several other bad mammer-jammers is set to perform tonight (Friday, Sept. 14) at the red barn they’re named after as part of a benefit for local resident Tommy Van Zandt

Van Zandt suffered severe neck and spinal injuries during the ice storm of 2009 when he fell from a ladder while trying to cut tree limbs near his home. The proceeds from the event help to cover the costs of his care and medical treatments.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at Neal & Gina Pendergraft’s Barn, located at 900 W. Drake St. in Fayetteville.

Tickets to the show are $100 per person, and are available for purchase at friendsoftommyv.com.

It’s a lucky occasion to see such a storied line-up of musicians playing in a big red barn around here!
