It’s not every day that someone who’s played guitar with Widespread Panic, The Allman Brothers, The Greatful Dead, Bela Fleck, Colonel Bruce Hampton, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and Project Z performs in Fayetteville.
It’s Monday, Sept. 24, actually. That’s when that happens.
The someone is virtuoso Jimmy Herring, and he and his new band will be in town for a show at George’s on Monday.
Herring just released his second solo record, “Subject to Change Without Notice” last month, and his touring band features top-notch musicians Jeff Sipe (Aquarium Rescue Unit, Col. Bruce Hampton) on drums, Matt Slocum on keys and Neal Fountain (Colonel Bruce Hampton) on bass.
Tickets are $15 at the venue, and they’re also on sale now at George’s ticketing website for $18.39.

While I am not huge into the jam scene, I am a fan of Jimmy’s. I have his first solo album, Lifeboat, and it’s great! If you like fusion guitar and appreciate good compositions over mindless noodling, check this out.
Thanks for the tip, flyer. I would have missed this and been mad about it.
Isayah’s Allstars will be opening for JHB Sept 24th @ George’s. Featuring Matt Smith(guitar),Dave Gesualdo(Bass),and Stingray(drums) !
Jimmy Herring, Jeff Sipe, Matt Smith Isayah band opener, show about to start at George’s.
This is gonna be good, music lovers!
