Pets of the Week

UPDATED: Pets of the week: Narcissa and Captain Awesome

Narcissa poses while her kennel mate jumps in and out of the pool.

Update: Both of these animals have been adopted.

Meet Narcissa, a 4-month-old, white and tan Labrador Retriever mix pup who has several fans at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. As soon as we entered the backyard, some volunteers were quick to point out who they called “the cutest puppy” in the yard. They were right. Narcissa’s face is very pretty and she’s super fun to hang out with.

Her kennel mate was stepping in and out of the pool, over and over again, but Narcissa wasn’t fooled. That 2-inch-deep water is for drinking, duh.

If you’re thinking of adopting a dog, this might be your new friend. Plus, this Saturday is $10 adoption day!

Captain Awesome

We mentioned Captain Awesome last week and he was going to be our featured pet until a little kitty named Bojangles caught our eye. Bojangles found a home, but Captain Awesome is still at the shelter, being awesome, of course.

And by “awesome” I mean he’s a big, friendly guy who just kind chills the heck out all the time. If you want a pet that’ll run all over your house, this cat’s not for you. If you want a new pal that sits there being awesome all day, Captain Awesome is your man.

He’s one year and seven months old and he’s a Tabby/Domestic Short Hair mix. Awesome.

If you’d like to meet either of this week’s featured pets or any of the other wonderful animals at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, call 444-3456 or stop by the shelter during adoption hours at 1640 S. Armstrong Avenue.
