News Briefs

Dickson Street businesses are preparing for the 2012 Bikes, Blues & BBQ motorcycle rally, set to begin on Wednesday.

The 2012 Bikes, Blues & BBQ motorcycle kicks off tomorrow in Fayetteville. Here’s a list of events for this year’s festival.

There are two mayoral candidate forums scheduled for this week, but before the two duke it out in person, we thought we’d ask a few questions of our own.

Fayetteville residents now have another food truck to choose from. Nomad’s Natural Plate opened Friday night in the Nightbird Books parking lot at the corner of North Church Avenue and Dickson Street.

Riffraff has been selling items as low as 75 percent off on Facebook lately. That and more in this week’s Flyer Sponsor post.

Roger Barrett takes a look at “Telegraph Avenue” by Michael Chabon in the latest Flyer book review. Barrett says the book is more than a novel, and calls it “a history of race relations and forgotten crimes that are real and imagined.” Plus, he says, it’s “a time capsule that may contain your last chance to walk inside a locally owned record store.”
