News Briefs

Work continues this week on a $7 million renovation project at the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house on the University of Arkansas campus. The plan is to add 10,000 square feet to the 47-year-old house at Maple Street and Leverett Avenue.

It’s no secret that the Walton Arts Center plans to build a brand new, 2,200-seat theater in Bentonville in the near future. That, however, won’t happen before the original Fayetteville facility receives a much-needed facelift and expansion.

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced street closure plans for the 13th Annual Bikes, Blues and BBQ motorcycle rally, set for Wednesday, Sept. 26 through Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art has acquired a rarely-seen Mark Rothko painting that has only been exhibited twice and has been in a private Swiss collection since the mid-1960s.

Don Williams will be at Walton Arts Center on Tuesday, Oct. 9, and we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to the show. Try to win ‘em.
