2012 Offshoot Film Fest lineup set, festival begins Oct. 4

Somebody make some popcorn. It’s almost time for a movie party.

The Seedling Film Association will host the third annual Offshoot Film Festival Oct. 4-7 at the University of Arkansas Global Campus at 2 E. Center St. in downtown Fayetteville.

This year’s event includes over 20 hours of films from around the world, bringing together an eclectic mix of world-renowned filmmakers and artists, professional arts educators, esteemed members of the community, as well as students and film lovers from across the region.

The festival kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 with an opening reception, followed by a weekend of films, talkbacks, and panel discussions. Categories of films represented at this year’s event include narrative features, documentaries, shorts, animation, student, low-tech, and films with an Arkansas connection.

Weekend passes to Offshoot Film Fest are $35, and single tickets to any event are $7. Passes and tickets are on sale now at seedlingfilm.com, and will also be available for purchase at the door during the event.
