As nice as the weather has been lately, Wilson Park will likely be packed with people on Saturday enjoying the fall in Fayetteville.

It will also be packed with puppets.

Local puppeteer Jo Ann Kaminsky will host her annual celebration of all-things-puppet, Puppets in the Park, from 9 a.m. until around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Wilson Park.

The event features puppet story making workshops, mimes, jugglers, as well as live music from Shaky Bugs, Fork and Knife, Sugar on the Floor. Puppet shows are planned all day long by master puppeteers culminating in a giant puppet pageant by Kaminsky and fellow puppet master, George Meyer at around 5:30 p.m.

Joining the fun his year are several local food trucks including Hawaiian Brian’s, Kind Kitchen, and Mountain Crepes. Local restaurants Little Bread Co. and Arsagas will also bring refreshments.

A raffle is planned Saturday as well to raise money to help pay for future Puppets in the Park events.

The one-day festival also coincides with Art in the Park, and outdoor art show held near the castle at Wilson Park from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday.

To RSVP, visit the event page on Facebook.
