News Briefs

Local storyteller Kathy McGregor leads a workshop for inmates at the NWA Community Corrections Center in September as part of the NWA Prison Stories Project. The project culminates tonight with a performance featuring local actors bringing some of the stories to live at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

The City of Fayetteville, in partnership with Feed Fayetteville and the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market, will host the “Protein, Produce & Pennies” food drive as part of Food Security Awareness Month through the end of October.

The City of Fayetteville is offering free mulch to Fayetteville residents while supplies last. Residents may pick up the free mulch using a pickup truck bed, a trailer or any other container.

Coco’s Lebanese Cafe is coming soon to the Dickson Street are. The new restaurant will focus on traditional Lebanese dishes passed down for generations to owner Genoveva Ancer from her family.

Jane Goodall this Friday 7PM at UA Barnhill, free in the Distinguished Lecture Series. Don’t forget. Make sure your calendar is marked for tomorrow.

Jane Goodall the famous primatologist (scientist who studies chimpanzees) will speak this Friday Oct 5th in Fayetteville Arkansas.

She is a very awesome person, who was responsible for major scientific breakthroughs in animal behavior research from the 1950′s to today. There are some great movies about her. Here is her wikipedia bio:
