Reminder: The final First Thursday outdoor artwalk of the 2012 season is tonight

Painting by artist Jody Stephenson, a visiting artist from Eureka Springs who will debut a new show at Fayetteville Underground tonight.

There’s been a bit of a chill in the air early in the morning and late in the evening around Fayetteville lately, which means it will soon be too cold for an outdoor art on the downtown square.

As a result, tonight’s First Thursday event will be the last of the season to include outdoor activities.

The weather will be near perfect for tonight’s walk, however.

The outdoor art walk features over 30 artists, including jewelry and metal work by Eric Young, paintings and drawings by Angelina Bowen, and photography by Stephen Ironside.

For music, local favorites Isayah’s All-Stars will be performing on the outdoor stage, near the Fayetteville Town Center.

At Fayetteville Underground, visiting artist Jody Stephenson from Eureka Springs will be showing over 50 paintings. Also, 23 resident artists from the Underground will be exhibiting work.

A few blocks away on Dickson Street, Fayetteville Artist Kathy P. Thompson will be debuting a new show entitled “20 Years,” featuring a newly commissioned installation of her mixed-media H-Boxes.

As always, expect a charity beer garden and a kids zone for the kiddos.

Don’t forget that parking on all the streets and public lots around the square is free after 5 p.m.
