The Fayetteville Public Library will host a weekly series of interactive classes for parents of children ages 0-4 years, facilitated by Marta Collier, an associate professor of childhood education at the University of Arkansas.

Classes are scheduled each Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. through Nov. 8 in the Walmart Storytime Room. The classes are free and open to the public, but class size is limited and registration is required (call 479-856-7170 to register).

The “Smart Play My Way” class series is for parents and children, and will help parents further enhance their skills in supporting the development of their children in ways that encourage healthy relationships, strong communication, physical development, cognitive development and social-emotional development through play. The strategies and activities shared will be family friendly, child-centered and promote active learning. Children and parents will engage in experiences which facilitate inquiry and sensorial learning through hands-on exploration and discovery.

For more information, contact Lolly Greenwood, the library’s manager of youth services, at 479-856-7170.
