Cash Mob Fayetteville to visit ‘Yacht Club’ on Saturday, Oct. 20

There’s another cash mob event coming up, and instead of visiting one or two small businesses, this time the group will visit five local places…on wheels.

Cash Mob Fayetteville, a local organization that aims to encourage support of local small businesses by visiting them en masse, is planning to visit The Yacht Club mobile business park at the corner of College Avenue and Trenton Boulevard from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Businesses located at the Yacht Club include mobile food vendors Hawaiian Brian’s and Kind Kitchen, clothing boutiques Grey Dog Vintage Boutique and Free Bird, and a photo booth in an Airstream trailer called MGB Photo.

For those who aren’t familiar, Cash Mob Fayetteville has been “mobbing” a new local place (or in some cases, two at a time) about once a month since locals Sally Williams and Caitlyn Covey founded the group in February.

The concept for a cash mob is pretty simple. Organizers ask folks to show up, spend $20 at a local place, meet a few new people, and provide a tangible extra boost for a locally-owned place to show them they’re appreciated.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the “mob” to show their support. For more info, check out the Facebook page for the event.
