    on October 19, 2012 at 7:31 am

Mountain Street will be closed from School Street to West Avenue beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19 for the Fayetteville Public Library’s “Light Up the Night” gala and premiere screening of the Up Among the Hills documentary film.

The street will reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release.

The sold out gala begins at 5 p.m. with a red carpet event on the library plaza, followed by a silent auction at 6:30 p.m., dinner and a live auction at 7 p.m., and the film screening at 8:30 p.m.

Those attending the event will have access to the library’s parking garage. Additional parking for the event will be available in the City Hospital lot south of the library.

The 60-minute Up Among the Hills film, which documents the history of Fayetteville, was written and produced by Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker and University of Arkansas professor Larry Foley, and is narrated by former President Bill Clinton.

For more information, call 479-856-7000.
