News Briefs

Signs direct residents to an early voting location at the Washington County Courthouse Monday in Fayetteville.

Early voting for the Nov. 6 general election began at 8 a.m. Monday at two locations in Washington County. Registered voters may stop by either site to cast early votes.

This week’s scheduled public meetings include the Fayetteville Planning Commission tonight, a Trail Trekkers meeting tomorrow, a Wedington Corridor Plan kickoff Thursday, and more.

Portland’s BRAINSTORM is in Fayetteville today for a show at Nightbird Books. Here’s a brief interview with the band including an embedded video.

For anyone waiting for more information about the upcoming vintage arcade in Evelyn Hills Shopping Center, the owners set up a Facebook page and linked to a teaser video last week.

The Flaming Lips are headed to Fayetteville for a Sunday, Nov. 4 show at Barnhill Arena on the University of Arkansas campus. The concert is another from the UA Office of Student Activities’ Headliner Concerts Committee, the same group responsible for bringing in Kid Cudi, Foo Fighters, John Mayer, The Roots, and others.
