Early voting for this year’s general election continues through 5 p.m. today at the Washington County Courthouse, located at the corner of College Avenue and Dickson Street in Fayetteville.

Medicine vending machine company Medbox has filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Jerry Cox and the Family Council Action Committee for their use of the company’s trademarked imagery during a recent press conference objecting to Issue 5, a ballot measure that would legalize the medical use of marijuana for Arkansas patients with certain conditions.

City officials were notified this week that Fayetteville has been named a 2012 Arkansas Volunteer Community of the Year. This is the fourth year in a row the city has been recognized for the award.

The Razorbacks men’s basketball team hosts LeMoyne-Owen at 7 p.m. tonight inside Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.
