Someone from a food truck could move in there and give fayetteville a great new non-burger experience. It could still involve meat and fried potatoes but maybe with an international twist. maybe?

Im sure it got paid or it wouldnt of been there 47 years.that place has given food to hungry people that came there asking for food many many times.so how bout focusing on some positive.thats whats wrong with this world today.you only have one life..wasting time on worrying about who has paid whatever is not on my to do list.

My question is, why was Brenda’s always listed on the “City Attorney” section of the HMR reports? A section reserved for HMR’s that haven’t paid the HMR tax, requiring the attorney to take action? I understand them wanting to pursue different paths, and that causing the business to close. However, just out of curiosity, why did they always owe tax money?

For all of you “speculating” about what happened here allow me to set the record strait for you…

I have known this family for almost thirty years and they are as close to me as any blood relative that i have.

I can assure you that there are NO tax issues, no family “issues” or any other “issues” for that matter.

One of the brothers already owns another successful business and the other brother does not want to put up with all of the headaches of running a reastaurant, as it is one of the most tiring and thankless businesses in the world.

It is a Fayetteville institution and im sorry to see it go. But 1 thing i know for sure is that the only reason they chose to close was to persue another path in their lives.

Those of you ar speculating or saying “I heard”, have no idea. So find something else to do.

If i still lived in Fayetteville, i would take it from them in an instant because it is probably one of the only businesses left in Fayetteville that has a clean slate without debt or “Tax Issues”.

I did not intend to imply that there is a dysfunction in the family; I used the word “issue” because that is the word that is most often used when taxes are discussed. People seem to not like taxes, so they are an “issue” rather than a “matter”.

My lovely wife and I, and many of our friends, have been great fans of Brenda’s for many years. If you ever wrote up my order or prepared my magnificent repast, I thank you.

Apparently the closing of Brenda’s was a family issue, not a tax issue. Every business collects taxes of some sort, and the amount of the tax is irrelevant. It seems clear that the food at Brenda’s was good enough to cause aficionados to overcome the issue of taxes.

The city of Fayetteville makes it hard for small buisinesses to stay alive. This tax and that tax resturaunt taxes are the highest . 47 years is a very long time for any place to be around. It will be truly missed. Good luck to the owner in your new ventures. Brendas will never be forgotten and no one in town could even come close to the food i have eaten there.

How sad! The VERY best good old time greasy(in a good greasy way)burgers! With EVERYTHING on ‘em if you want it. The buns were at least 6″ in diameter and what was in it fit just perfect. Gotta go get photos of it before I can’t. I moved here in 1959 and went to high school with Brenda. Thanks Brenda for the great food and memories too!!
