Foghorn’s Wings plans move into former Mermaid’s location, expansion at Baum

The building at 1815 N. Green Acres Road, formerly Mermaids, will soon be the home of a Foghorn’s Wings location.

Foghorn’s Wings will soon move from its original location on College Avenue to a larger space just down the road.

Restaurant owner Jeff Hodges has purchased the building at 1815 N. Green Acres Road (formerly Mermaids), and plans to renovate the space in time to move sometime this Spring.

“That original space has been great for us, but it’s small,” Hodges said. “We’re excited to move into that building that will match our Baum Stadium location (at 1545 W. 15th Street) a little bit better.”

Hodges plans to purchase the building just north of the new space as well, but will continue to lease to the current tenants and will utilize the parking behind it for employees.

An expansion project on his other restaurant near Baum Stadium in South Fayetteville will also begin soon, and could be finished by February.

“We’re taking over the space next door, and we’ll be able to add seating for about 75 more people over there,” he said.

Closing on the purchase of the Green Acres Road space is set for Nov. 30, and Hodges hopes to move into the building sometime in April.

Any word on what’s going on at Razor’s Edge, over on MLK? I noticed today they were moving everything out of the building.

There’s a sign on the front door that mentions Thanks for the good times and that they were closing or something similar. RIP Razor’s Edge.

A lot are doing very well. The restaurant biz is tough. But this article is about a local restaurant expanding into a larger location, which was previously occupied by a different restaurant which also moved on to a larger location. HMR collections are at an all-time high. Restaurants are doing alright in Fayetteville.

Too bad Foghorn’s is terrible. I work near the one on College and avoid it like the plague.

Foghorns is not bad, but I rarely go there for some reason. I hope they do well in their new location. Its always good to see a local business succeed and expand.
