UPDATED: Long leads Emery in early voting totals

Early and absentee votes are in and Alan Long leads Mike Emery by 19 votes in the Ward 4 City Council runoff election.

According to unofficial early and absentee totals, Long received 73 votes (57 percent) and Emery received 54 votes (43 percent).

The final results are expected to be counted and released within the hour.

The winner of the election will replace outgoing Ward 4 Alderwoman Sarah Lewis in the Position 2 seat.

In other Washington County runoff races, Jeff Watson (45 votes) leads Teresa Moore Powers (27 votes) for a Springdale City Council seat, and Bill Sergeant (3 votes) leads Misty C. Caudle (1 vote) for a West Fork City Council seat.
