Several dozen fans and a Fayetteville Fire Department crew helped cheer on the Fayetteville Bulldogs football team as their buses passed Baum Stadium on their way out of town Friday morning.

The team faces Bentonville in the 2012 7A State Championship game set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Fayetteville, who beat Bentonville 29-28 in last year’s state championship game, is looking for some revenge after losing this year’s regular season matchup to the Tigers 24-17.

According to school officials, an audio broadcast of the game will be aired on KURM-FM 100.3, Cox channel 217, AT&T Uverse channel 99, and at the district’s website.

A video broadcast of the game is set to stream at fearlessfriday.com.

Friday morning’s event was similar to a sendoff the FHS basketball team received in March when two fire trucks formed a ladder bridge over Razorback Road as the team headed to the state finals in Hot Springs.
