A pet supply donation station is set up inside Adventure Subaru to collect needed items for local animal shelters.

Anyone who stops by Adventure Subaru this Saturday might assume that the dealership has gone to the dogs. In a round-a-bout way, we suppose they’d be right. In a good way, though.

Three local animal organizations have teamed up with the dealership for a “Love-a-Pet” adoption event, and shelter supply drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8.

The Lester C. Howick Animal Shelter of Washington County and City of Springdale Animal Services will be on hand with adoptable dogs. Standard adoption fees will be waived for qualified applicants during the event, thanks in part to a grant by the ASPCA.

“We are thankful for the grant received from the ASPCA to help host this event, and for Adventure Subaru’s community involvement and support,” said Carmen Nelson, director of the Animal League of Washington County. “We hope to have a very successful adoption event.”

The Animal League of Washington County will also be on hand to administer free microchipping to the first 100 attendees, and the dealership will also be a collection center for needed shelter supplies, including, pet food, pet toys, blankets, towels, etc.

Dog owners from all over NWA are invited to bring their pets in for a free holiday photo with Santa Claus by local professional photographer Beth Hall.

Adventure Subaru is located at 2269 N. Henbest Dr., in Fayetteville. More information about the event is available on Facebook.

Even if you’re not looking to adopt a dog because you already have one (or more) – bring your pet for a FREE photo with Santa! We’ve got some cool giveaways, too – plus free microchipping for the first 100 attendees.
