Photo: Todd Gill, Flyer staff

New Arkansas head football coach Bret Bielema and his wife, Jen, were introduced in front of hundreds of media and fans during a news conference inside the Broyles Athletic Complex Wednesday afternoon. Here are some photos and quotes from the press conference.

Ozark Natural Foods announced Wednesday that they plan to pay off their mortgage on Dec. 10 at a media event outside the co-op.

Our reviewer Tobias Wray checked out Billy Elliot on opening night at the Walton Arts Center. Here’s what he thought. There are still several chances to see the show this weekend .

Just when you think your collection of Arkansas gear is complete, Daisy goes and releases an Arkansas Razorback Red Ryder BB gun.

Anyone who stops by Adventure Subaru this Saturday might assume that the dealership has gone to the dogs. In a round-a-bout way, we suppose they’d be right. In a good way, though. Check out the “Love-a-Pet” adoption event.

Friday events, Dec. 7

Benjamin Del Shreve

After work, local favorites Big Uns and Lafuso kick off Happy Hour at George’s. Later on, Benjamin Del Shreve will celebrate the release of his new album, The Diamond. It’s got a more acoustic feel to it, but he’s playing with a full band. Here’s some more info on that.

It’s been a while since Hot Shot Karate has played in town, but they’ve reunited for a show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern on Friday night. They’ll perform with Damn Arkansan, who they share a member with (It’s Caleb Rose.) Double duty!

There’s a rock show at LaLaLand with Perpetual Werewolf, Suzi Trash, New Madrid, and Shook Yang. It’s gonna be loud.
