Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin coming to Walton Arts Center March 2

Acclaimed songwriters and longtime friends Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin are coming to Walton Arts Center to perform together this spring.

The two will share the stage as a duo on Saturday, March 2, and will perform material from both their careers as well as some of their favorite songs by other artists.

Carpenter has recorded 12 albums, and sold over 13 million records, thanks to country hits such as “Passionate Kisses” and “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her.” She has also won five Grammy Awards, two CMA awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards, and was recently inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Colvin has won three Grammy Awards, including two for her hit single “Sunny Came Home,” and has been nominated for another seven. She’s released 10 albums over her career, including her most recent album “All Fall Down” featuring artists Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Bill Frisell and Jakob Dylan.
