Police seized 54 pounds of marijuana and arrested two men on drug charges following a traffic stop on Hwy. 412 on Sunday.
Scott Fretland, 32, and Wayne Lovel, 34, both of Eureka, Calif., were arrested in connection with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Detectives with the Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force seized the marijuana and $1,100 in cash after the men were pulled over for speeding.
From the news release:
A K-9 sniffed the vehicle and showed a change of behavior indicating the odor of drugs in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 54 pounds of marijuana and $1,100 in currency.
Both men were released Monday evening on $2,500 bond.
The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force is comprised of Fayetteville, Springdale, Prairie Grove, Lincoln, Farmington, West Fork, Greenland, Johnson, Elm Springs, Elkins Police Departments, the City of Goshen, and the Washington and Madison County Sheriff’s Offices.

As always, shameful misdirection of our law enforcement resources. That looks like some sticky, too.
The article directly above your comment states that they were pulled over for speeding. How is this a “misdirection of our law enforcement resources”?
They didn’t let them go?
Arresting, jailing, trying, probably jailing again. These are not small things. These things cost a very large amount of money and resources to accomplish. All for some pot. This is a complete waste of taxpayer money and law enforcement resources.
awww, sad face

The pile of weed is pretty impressive. The fanned-out twenties, not so much.
oh damn, thats the good stuff.
also… $2500 bond for 54 pounds??? GTF outta here and never look back.
That’s a lot of Medicine….
What a waste of tax payer dollars. We need to focus on real crime. I think Fayetteville contributes something like $400,000 to the 4th Judicial Drug Task Force and is the head of the multi-city agency.Have you ever seen the Fayetteville police cars sitting way outside city limits on I-540 near West Fork? I say we have better uses for our money.
