Randy Jackson’s visit to Razorback Stadium will air Jan. 30 on American Idol

American Idol star Randy Jackson surprises former Miss Arkansas Ann Wizer Difani with an invitation to appear on American Idol during the Arkansas/Kentucky game Oct. 13

Remember when Randy Jackson showed up on the field at Razorback Stadium in the middle of the Arkansas/Kentucky game on Oct. 13?

We ask, because the episode featuring his visit to Fayetteville is set to air Wednesday night on American Idol.

Jackson was in town to inform former Miss Arkansas Ann Wizer Difani of her invitation to participate on the show, thanks to a nomination from Difani’s husband as part of a new American Idol segment called “Nominate Your Idol.”

While on the field, Difani sang a little impromptu song for fans, Jackson led a Hog Call, and then left the field, being all “yo, yo, dog” like he does. Remember?

I guess what we’re trying to say is, if you were in attendance at that game, there’s a chance you’ll be on TV this week.

The episode airs at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 on Fox.

I’m no American Idol fan, but I used to sing with Ann in Schola Cantorum at the UofA. We had an amazing director and went on a Europe tour singing in cathedrals. Very happy for her. She truly is a nice person and more musically inclined than a talent show will make her appear to be, and I wish her the best.
