News Briefs

The Fayetteville Animal Shelter will offer free spay and neuter surgeries to Fayetteville residents for dogs and cats on three upcoming dates in February and March.

City officials will officially break ground on the long-awaited College Avenue flyover bridge at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4.

Since publishing a story last week about the cleanup of a former electroplating site on Pump Station Road in southeast Fayetteville, we’ve received several inquiries about the condition of the nearby pump station house and caretaker’s cottage. Here are some photos.

A painting honoring former Arkansas head basketball coach Nolan Richardson will be unveiled at halftime during the Razorbacks’ game against Tennessee on Saturday.

Speaking of basketball, both UA teams play tonight. The women face Ole Miss at 7 p.m. in Oxford, while the men take on Alabama at 8 p.m. in Tuscaloosa on ESPN2.
