National signing day for college football recruits is still a few days away, but Razorback head coach Bret Bielema’s first class at Arkansas got a huge shot in the arm on Monday.
Five-star running back Alex Collins verbally pledged his commitment to play for the Razorbacks live on FoxSports South.
Collins, who is considered by most recruiting services to be among the best prep running backs in the nation, chose the Hogs over Miami, Wisconsin, Florida State, and Florida.
Due to NCAA rules, Bielema isn’t allowed to talk about specific recruits just yet, but if his Twitter feed is any indication, he was definitely excited about something Monday night.
“Wooooo pig sooooie! Great night to be a Razorback,” Bielema wrote just minutes after Collins’ announcement.
The rest of Arkansas’ 2013 recruiting class will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
