Police seized over 10 pounds of marijuana and arrested a woman on drug charges Friday following a traffic stop in Fayetteville.
Phanomphone Lakhiaminh, 53, of Fort Smith faces felony charges in connection with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.
According to the arrest report, an officer pulled over a black Lexus SUV after it crossed the center line on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near the Interstate 540 interchange shortly before 7 a.m.
Police said Lakhiaminh – who was the driver – “appeared very nervous, with shaking hands, repeatedly tapping her thighs, and pulling her shirt down repeatedly.” Lakhiaminh’s actions prompted officers to search her vehicle, according to the report.
During the search, officers found a thin blue sleeping bag containing 10 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana weighing 10 pounds, 8.9 ounces.
Lakhiaminh was released from the Washington County Detention Center Friday evening on $5,000 bond.

-Nervousness, even extreme, doesn’t equate to probable cause for search and seizure in my book. Sad to see yet another person will pay a hefty personal price because of weed laws.
Man thats a lot of weed for personal use??? Surely she wasnt selling it??
Imagine how many people she could have killed with all of those drugs. Dangerous criminal right there!
(Please, please be sarcasm…)
“Phanomphone Lakhiaminh” theres no way that can be a real name..
It can be a real name in Laos. She’s probably Laotian.
