Five teens arrested following mailbox explosions

Police arrested two 15-year-old boys and three 16-year-old boys Tuesday in connection with using homemade explosives to blow up four mailboxes in east Fayetteville.

Two mailboxes were destroyed on North Hartford Drive and two more were blown up on North Eastwood Drive, according to a news release.

All five boys were charged with a felony criminal act involving explosives. Four received an additional felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief and one faces an added misdemeanor charge of first-degree criminal mischief.
