Remember when we told you guys that the owner of 21st Amendment was opening a rooftop patio, and a late-night taco shop?

Full menu

Well, the rooftop patio opened late last fall, and now the taco shop is up and running at 404 W. Dickson St., in the small space between 21st Amendment and Rogue.

The new restaurant is called Los Bobos Taqueria, and it officially opened on Valentine’s Day.

Los Bobos serves a basic menu, with just 10 items: pollo, asada, al pastor, alambre, and chorizo tacos and tortas (Mexican-style sandwiches).

“The menu is simple, and to the point,” said owner Zac Wooden. “The alambre taco is my new favorite, but the al pastor is good stuff, too.”

The restaurant is a cash-only establishment to keep costs low, Wooden told us, but an on-site ATM machine is available.

“We are trying to make the transaction as fast and seamless as possible,” he said. “We also wanted to keep the cost to the customer as low as possible by not charging more to cover credit card fees.”

Los Bobos is open three nights a week, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.

For a bit more info, check out the Los Bobos Facebook page.

Has anyone tried it yet?

    Gentrified tacos? I like my taqueria’s the way they were intended to be…unsightly and scary to white people. I kid, I kid! If you want good tacos go to Charly’s in Springdale.

      Or go to Los Bobos in Fayetteville. They’re legit.

        they’ve only been open a few days plus they serve mostly white people so I doubt they’re as ‘legit’ as you say rose lady

          Well Jess, as long as they can help me with my wine pairings . . . .

          My bad. Not Legit. Silly whites and their wrong opinions.

          Whoa now, we can’t just go throwing around the word “legit” willy-nilly. It has serious implications. In this instance, a taco is only “legit” if it fits certain taco standards which are no doubt agreed upon unanimously and unequivocally by everyone in Mexico.

    I visit the springdale/Lowell/rogers establishments and this looks a little more expensive. Hope I can give it a try soon but the no lunch thing might make it difficult.

    If the primary customer base is gringos, it’s hardly legit. If there’s no tripe or other offal on the menu, it’s hardly legit.

      Legit = it’s delicious and people will eat it

      Those concerned with authenticity may or may not choose to skip this place. Those concerned with getting hot grub after last call are going to NOM NOM these tacos for sure.

        Delicious = delicious
        Legit != delicious
        Legit = Conforming to the law or to rules

        It may be tasty, but it’s as close to legit Mexican food as Taco Bell is. Okay maybe it’s a little closer…

      Michael, you don’t know what you are talking about. That is quite possibly the most ignorant thing I have heard this week. Luckily for you, it’s only Monday. Having a stripped down menu doesn’t preclude a place from being “legit”. The place is so small that the fact that you only have 8 options keeps crowds moving. Good business model.

      Ate at this joint 2x this weekend. It IS autentico, delicious, and consistent. It’s an indoor taquito truck, folks!!

        Calling me ignorant and saying I don’t know what I’m talking about, that’s rich.

        Do you even know what a taquito is?

        Having eaten at several taco stands throughout Mexico, I will say that Los Bobos has more options than any of those places. I have a hard time understanding how these tacos could be described as not “legit”. You have chopped meat grilled on a flat grill with some onions and peppers, served in a corn tortilla. That is pretty standard. Would a hamburger joint be considered not legitimate american food because they don’t serve fried chicken?

    Hoping they add lengua, and I get to try them before the Norma Oficial Mexicana shuts them down for selling illegitimate tacos.
