Two City Council members want to make sure proceeds from the recent sale of the former Tyson Mexican Original plant are put back into the surrounding southeast Fayetteville community.

A group of folks hoping to shoot a movie called Valley Inn in Northwest Arkansas this summer will hold a crowd-funding kick off event on Thursday, Feb. 28 at UARK Bowl.
The painting, commissioned by the center’s board of directors, was created by central Arkansas artist Ann Downs. After the ceremony, it will remain on display at the center.
The new series advertises various local attractions and institutions including Fayetteville’s trails, three museums, a local garden and an art gallery.
Shirkey is responsible for bringing to town some of the biggest names in folk, bluegrass, and blues music over the last 20 years.
Only Bentonville reported a drop in collections compared to the same month last year.
