News Briefs

Now that First Thursday Fayetteville has grown to include the entire downtown square, it’s time to start taking advantage of all that extra space. Here’s a rundown of all the additions to the monthly festival, which returns for a new season on March 7.

The city’s Transportation Division has plans for over five miles of sidewalk work in 2013. Another 15 are planned for next year.

Two City Council members want to make sure proceeds from the recent sale of the former Tyson Mexican Original plant are put back into the surrounding southeast Fayetteville community.

After 29 years of live music, street vendors, and bed races on Dickson Street, it appears that Springfest just needed a year off to rest. The festival returns this year on May 4.

A musical super group will come together for an evening next weekend to help out one of Dickson Street’s most recognizable faces.

Tame Impala tonite at Cain’s in Tulsa OK, for those who like the sound of this Australian band. They do not have a Fayetteville date booked. Dgold Honest Tunes Radio
