Boom Kinetic signs a contract with Brain Fuse records on Thursday.

It’s not every day that a local band signs a record contract with an indie label.

It did, however, happen this week. On Thursday, March 7, as a matter of fact.

Boom Kinetic signed a multi-record deal with Virginia based label Brain Fuse Records at a public signing ceremony held Thursday afternoon at George’s Majestic Lounge.

“We’re excited to welcome Boom Kinetic to our family,” said Brain Fuse director George Walsh. “Everyone from our office is excited about the potential of this band.”

Along with Boom Kinetic, Brain Fuse lists three other bands on their roster; Virginia band Please Say Yes, New York act Craig Lyon, and Slovenian band, Dreamwalk.

Boom Kinetic will celebrate the new deal with a Friday night show at George’s. The event will include food, drinks and a performance by the band. Admission is $10.

Boom Kinetic plans to release their first album on the new label later this spring.

Is that a picture of them signing a contract with a label on a stage? That made my whole day!

Indie labels are known for their showy signing ceremonies at long tables.

Indeed that photo op is a classic signing set-up. Congrats to the band and the label. Go big, go Boom! Dgold, Honest Tunes Radio Host
