RIP Jason Molina (39) Magnolia Electric Co, Songs: Ohia. Did Jason ever sing in Fayetteville? If so it was before I realized his variety of band names and excellent songwriting quality, and voice. Someone who has recorded a duo album with Molina, Will Johnson, played in Fayetteville a few times: I bought the Molina-Johnson album at East Hall Recording in town. Rest in peace, one of the true great songwriters of our time.

    Listen to Magnolia Electric Co.

He played downstairs at JR’s probably in 2005 or 2006.
