Traffic flows along College Avenue Center near a work zone at the intersection of Spring Street Tuesday morning in downtown Fayetteville.

At least one northbound lane of College Avenue between Center and Dickson streets will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Fayetteville officials said in a news release.

Detour route

City of Fayetteville

A crew with the city’s Water and Sewer Division will be working to repair a water main at the intersection of College and Spring Street.

Work will last from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 5 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.

If necessary, traffic will be detoured east on Center Street, north on Willow Avenue, east on Spring Street, north on Olive Avenue and then east on Dickson Street back to College Avenue. In the news release, operations manager Tim Nyander said detour signs will be in place to assist motorists.

For more information about the project, call the Fayetteville Water and Sewer Division at 479-575-8386.
