‘Tour for Life’ offers $10 pet adoptions on April 21

The North Shore Animal League’s 2013 Tour for Life will stop in Fayetteville for a special mobile pet adoption event on Sunday, April 21 at Walmart on Mall Avenue.

Thanks to a partnership between the league, the Fayetteville Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of the Ozarks, all pets available at the event will include a special adoption rate of only $10.

The event begins at noon and adoptions will be available through 4 p.m.

This year’s tour, which runs from March to mid-May, will make 51 stops in 26 states, including four cities in Arkansas. The cooperative initiative is aimed at reinforcing the importance and advantages of shelter pet adoptions and familiarizing communities with their local shelter.

In addition to having adoptable shelter dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, the event will also offer information on the benefits of adopting shelter pets, behavioral education, and special services available to pet owners at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter and through the Humane Society of the Ozarks.
