Friends plan balloon release for missing Fayetteville woman

Friends and family members of a missing Fayetteville woman are planning a balloon release on Thursday, June 6 to raise awareness about her disappearance.

Dana May, 51, was last seen leaving her work at the Veteran’s Health Administration Office at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 20. Friends and family say they haven’t heard from her since.

The balloon release, featuring 100 “fully biodegradable and ecologically friendly balloons” will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Gulley Park.

“This event is to increase awareness about Dana’s disappearance and affirm our faith that with the help of our community we will find Dana and bring her home,” states a post on the Facebook event page.

Anyone with information about Dana’s whereabouts should contact Detective Steven Hulsey with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 479-444-5700.
