Details are thin, but it looks like Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is planning a location in Fayetteville.
Clinton Bennett, managing broker with real estate firm CB Richard Ellis, last week said that the Wichita, Kan.-based chain will soon build a new restaurant at the southwest corner of Wedington Drive and Salem Road.
Freddy’s, which specializes in cooked-to-order steakburgers, hot dogs and fresh-churned frozen custard, recently announced a major expansion into several new markets with over 400 new restaurants planned nationwide. The 11-year-old company currently has 97 locations across the country.
The Fayetteville store would be the second Freddy’s to open in Northwest Arkansas. A Rogers location is set to soon open at 4507 W. Walnut Street.
The Wedington Corridor is seeing a lot of new developments lately. Aside from a First Security Bank which is under construction in front of Neighborhood Market, a Slim Chickens is in the works across the street at the corner of Golf Club Drive. A multi-unit commercial building with an optometry clinic and a Supercuts hair salon is also under construction just off Wedington in front of Planet Fitness, and a Walgreens is being built at the southwest corner of Rupple Road.
